Job Purpose / Objective
Perform ultrasound procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and / or intervention and produce high quality images on appropriate archival systems.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Perform ultrasound imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasound
- Record patient images via appropriate archival media, transfer images as needed
- Participate in performance improvement activities in the department
- Maintain appropriate quality control records and participates in routine equipment testing and maintenance
- Review clinical information regarding patient along with images with the Radiologist
- Print images onto appropriate media
- Provide permanent data of procedures as required or requested
- Maintain departmental standards related to Quality Assurance controls
- Train new staff on the ultrasound system and department procedures
- Practice sterile techniques; maintain aseptic conditions and use universal precautions at all times
- Perform first aid on patients until further assistance can be obtained to maintain patient\'s health
- Adhere to on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules as prepared by the manager
- Exercise strict patient confidentiality
- Ensure adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, KSA and local requirements, and JCIA & CBAHI standards
- Provide patient and family education as per the needs
- Participate in routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed
- Complete forms and maintains records, logs and reports of work performed
- Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG
- Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity
- Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his knowledge, skills and abilities
Education / Professional Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology / Ultrasonography
Experience
At least Two (2) years of experience in a Hospital Setup
