Overview Technician - Maintenance & Water Quality / Data Center Technician roles in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This description provides the responsibilities and qualifications for the position.
Responsibilities
Work with UTP and fiber cables (CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, fiber MM, fiber SM).
Bunch, terminate and test UTP cables.
Install trunks, ducts, flex pipes, EMT pipes.
Operate and use equipment such as Fluke, Fusion splicer, OTDR, power meters, light source; perform fiber optic tests and troubleshooting.
Understand loss and attenuation; apply basic computer skills (especially Excel and Internet) to learn new programs.
Have knowledge of basic electricity related to telecommunications (voltage, current, resistance, power, grounding, insulation, Ohm’s Law, AC / DC) and use common power measurement instruments (multimeters, AVO meters).
Handle hand tools and electric power tools (cable lugs crimper, hot guns, heat shrinks, Hilti, drills, etc.).
Install, rack and stack equipment (switches, routers, UPSs, indoor / outdoor cameras, etc.).
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field.
Experience with telecom equipment and installation tasks as listed in Responsibilities.
Ability to work with others and perform as part of a team.
Fair English language skills.
Ability to work in a variety of schedules and duties, including normal duty, on-call, overnight, weekends, holidays, and extended travel.
Strong safety and quality awareness in electrical and telecommunications tasks.
