- The opportunity
- You, as a GIS Installation & Commissioning Supervisor, will be part of Hitachi Energy’s business based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for all activities required to ensure switching systems are successfully installed, repaired, and any faults are eliminated. This includes supporting the installation of high-voltage systems worldwide for PGHV. You will represent PG through your technical expertise and presence, and PGHV specifically in interactions with clients at installation sites. Project deadlines must be met while maintaining a strong focus on cost-performance efficiency. You will embody the PG QA philosophy, considering the unique conditions at construction sites.
- How You’ll Make an Impact
- Supporting installation and commissioning work to ensure it is carried out in perfect technical order.
- Independently performing installation and maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring compliance with installation requirements and instructions and observing necessary accident prevention measures—especially guidelines for working on live system components.
- Red-marking drawings or documents to reflect any changes or modifications made during installation.
- Advising sub-suppliers’ installation supervisors in planning and coordinating workforce to meet project schedules.
- Collaborating with the PG Project Manager to assess the status of completed and pending work.
- Inspecting arriving materials for completeness and damage and coordinating material handling with sub-suppliers’ Material Control teams.
- Issuing non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within PG’s scope of supply, in coordination with the PG Project Manager.
- Supervising final installation and commissioning tests and overseeing PG installation completion documentation.
- Supervising and coordinating loop check activities and participating in site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
- Ensuring competent execution of assigned tasks.
- Performing any additional tasks assigned by management to fulfill job requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

- Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience with GIS preferred.
- Strong experience with SF6 gas handling; PGHV-CH GIS product knowledge is a plus.
