Workshop Supervisor

Workshop Supervisor – responsible for organizing and overseeing workshop work ensuring efficient and cost‑effective operations, maintaining safety standards, and delivering field service to customers.

Key Accountabilities

Minimize rental equipment downtime and properly control repair and maintenance costs.

Maintain workshop housekeeping, ensuring a clean, tidy, and safe work environment.

Quality control : Inspect, diagnose faults and ensure high‑standard repairs meeting customers’ expectations.

Parts reusability : Follow manufacturer guidelines to replace only necessary parts.

Quotations : Ensure timely receipt, review and approval of quotations for internal / local repairs.

Training : Assess staff training needs, recommending programs to maximize productivity.

Foster a participative culture, encouraging personnel to contribute to a lively, flexible and responsive workforce.

Tooling : Maintain and locate existing tooling to maximize utilization.

Budget : Assist in setting the departmental budget and control expenses to minimize costs.

Provide prompt and efficient field response.

Meet or exceed customer expectations at all times.

24 / 7 service response with an emergency back‑up.

Implement company and safety rules at all times.

Ensure subordinates’ safety, ensuring compliance with safety policies, procedures and practices.

Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of employees and visitors in the workshop.

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude

Educational Qualifications and Certifications : University Degree in Engineering (B.Sc. Mechanical or Electrical).

Knowledge : Ability to shoulder responsibility and enforce a results‑oriented work culture.

Language Skills : Arabic desirable, English essential.

Experience : Minimum 5 years as a skilled engineer plus 3 years supervising in a Caterpillar dealership workshop.
