Job Description : Turner & Townsend is seeking a Commercial Director to undertake a lead role on one of our prestigious infrastructure-based projects. This role offers an opportunity to build from a strong foundation and mature operations further. The successful candidate will have leadership responsibility for the cost management discipline, act as guardian of quality on existing projects / commissions, and mentor a large team.

Role

The successful candidate will be an agile, emotionally intelligent leader with strong technical delivery history. International and cross-sector experience in a multi-cultural environment is beneficial. The candidate will be a cost management generalist covering estimating, cost, scheduling, risk, change, performance measurement and reporting, and should be able to articulate and advance what good looks like. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at senior levels are essential. The candidate should be comfortable presenting to large groups and to a senior-level client base.

Responsibilities

• Act as principal point of contact for cost management matters and lead the Turner & Townsend - Arabia team.
• Lead and motivate others, provide direction, and inspire high performance.
• Take on key account roles, project execution assurance, and maintain client relationships as required.
• Deliver assurance services to projects — peer reviews, gateway reviews, maturity assessments, readiness reviews, progress and performance audits.
• Periodically take on major program delivery roles, lead the Turner & Townsend team on the commission, achieve steady-state delivery, then manage transition and backfill.
• Provide oversight and assurance to Turner & Townsend major programs in the region.
• Identify organizational needs, build recruitment plans and develop role specifications.
• Demonstrate extensive experience in delivering CM programs and projects; apply regional and segment knowledge.
• Play a key role in CM business development for the cost center; assist in marketing and business development strategies and contribute to sales proposals and presentations.
• Coordinate with project team leaders on project negotiations and execution; collaborate with other business divisions and teams.
• Deliver high-quality service products by utilizing Turner & Townsend systems, policy and procedure, and effective time management.
• Understand commercial business drivers and ensure work aligns with business objectives; contribute to business opportunity development.
• Show appetite for challenge, innovation and continual improvement in CM discipline.
• Take responsibility for BU performance and project P / L; identify opportunities and support market growth.
• Develop talent and coach early / mid-career cost management staff to meet business goals; stay organized and administratively strong.
