The role holder responsible for subordinates, processes, and investment programs in the Private / Public Markets vertical, overseeing the end-to-end investment process (origination to execution), monitoring processes, and program management of current and prospective domestic and international private / public markets investment opportunities. The role holder assumes an active role in the origination process of new investments, oversees the underwriting process, develops and executes the portfolio strategy, while actively managing portfolio risk, and serves as a primary point of contact and liaison between the organization and a diverse range of stakeholders in the global investment community
Core Responsibilities
- Assume an active role in the oversight of origination, due diligence, structuring, and execution processes for potential private / public markets investment opportunities, ensuring adherence with governance requirements and obtaining all required internal approvals (e.g., Investment Committee).
- Oversee due diligence and underwriting processes on private / public markets fund managers and other investments, including an assessment of the quality of the investment thesis, investment teams, investment strategies, alignment of interests, and performance track record.
- Support direct reports in the conceptualization and execution of various core and ad hoc internal projects related to portfolio construction, deployment / pacing analysis, and portfolio optimization (e.g., secondary market sales).
- Assume a key role in the investment thesis generation process and oversee research activities (sector- and company-specific) while keeping abreast of relevant fiscal, social, and political developments to guide the investment decision-making process.
- Oversee the development and presentation of investment recommendations to the Investment Committee based on the team’s due diligence and analysis, in addition to performance and risk monitoring at both a fund- and portfolio level.
- Oversee the legal review process of relevant fund documents and drafting of supplementary documentation (e.g., side letters) to ensure compliance with Shariah Investment Policy and other investment / governance / risk frameworks.
- Represent Awqaf Investment Company at regionally and globally relevant investment and industry conferences and play a leading role in business development for the organization.
- Assume a key role in supervising, coaching, and mentoring direct reports on the investment team and perform other business-related duties as required by the Chief Financial Investment Officer.
- Lead the development and implementation of the company's investment strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and risk tolerance.
- Assume an active role in all ad-hoc requests from senior management or potential clients other than GAA. This includes providing advisory services to current and prospective clients.
- Utilize advanced financial modeling techniques to assess the financial viability of potential investments and forecast future returns.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and trends, and make informed recommendations to optimize portfolio performance.
