Overview

The Environmental Manager will serve as the Contractor’s full-time, dedicated authority for all environmental matters on the Project. The role ensures full compliance with the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP-C), Employer’s Requirements, and applicable environmental laws. The Environmental Manager will act as the Employer’s primary point of accountability for environmental compliance, ensuring that all construction activities are performed in a responsible, sustainable, and legally compliant manner.

Your role

• Full implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of environmental compliance with the CEMP-C and all associated environmental procedures.
• Reporting directly to the Contractor’s Project Manager and acting independently to ensure compliance with Employer’s requirements.
• Authority to issue stop-work orders to Contractor and Subcontractor staff to prevent environmentally harmful or non-compliant activities.
• Maintaining full-time presence on Site and managing a team of environmental technicians, auditors, inspectors, or similar.
• Ensuring all Subcontractors appoint trained environmental staff responsible for implementing relevant CEMP-C elements.
• Establishing the environmental organizational structure, communication lines, and reporting mechanisms.
• Liaising closely with the Employer on all environmental matters, providing timely reports, and ensuring prevention and mitigation of environmental risks.
