Role Overview
The Quality Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the Project Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with contractual, client and international quality standards .
This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and supervision of major roads, bridges and infrastructure projects. The Quality Manager will ensure that all works are executed to the required quality, safety and compliance standards, and that project processes are continually improved throughout the lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) , procedures and audit schedules in alignment with ISO 9001 : 2015 and client requirements.Lead and coordinate all quality assurance and control activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international best practices.Monitor and continuously improve the effectiveness of the QMS, identifying opportunities for enhancement.Conduct regular internal quality audits across all project functions, ensuring that non-conformities are identified, reported and corrected in a timely manner.Oversee the corrective and preventive action process, ensuring root cause analysis and closure of quality issues.Coordinate with independent auditors, clients and contractors during external audits and surveillance visits.Supervise and verify the implementation of inspection and testing plans (ITPs) for all works related to roads, bridges and infrastructure projects.Ensure that materials, workmanship and procedures meet contract and regulatory standards.Manage the project’s inspection records, laboratory testing reports and quality documentation.Facilitate quality meetings, workshops and training sessions to promote quality awareness within the project team.Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports, summarizing key findings, KPIs, trends and improvement actions.Lead and mentor the project quality team to ensure high performance, consistency and competence.Establish and monitor quality KPIs and use digital tools to track performance and identify trends.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and proactive problem solving in quality management practices.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or Quality Engineering (Master’s preferred).Minimum 15 years of experience in quality management within PMC and supervision of roads, bridges and infrastructure projects.Certified Lead Auditor or Assessor (IRCA, Exemplar Global or equivalent).Full member of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or equivalent recognized professional body.Strong understanding of ISO 9001 , construction inspection processes, material testing and compliance verification procedures.Proficiency in digital quality management tools and automated reporting platforms.Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.Seniority Level
