Spread across 700,000 square meters, the Complex houses alfanar’s facilities. The Complex has a comprehensive infrastructure including a data and communication center as well as a commercial zone. Job Purpose

To design, develop, and validate high-performance operating mechanisms for medium-voltage switchgear, ensuring compliance with IEC standards and product reliability requirements. The role focuses on mechanical design optimization, testing, and value engineering while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, durable, and cost-effective solutions. Key Accountability Areas

Design & Development Lead the design of spring, toggle, magnetic, and motorized operating mechanisms for MV switchgear. Ensure kinematic accuracy, energy storage / release, force distribution, and endurance under high-duty cycles. Integrate mechanisms into RMUs, VCBs, and LBSs with proper interlocks, safety features, and ergonomic considerations. Standards & Compliance Ensure all designs meet IEC 62271-1 / 200 / 103 / 100 standards and other regulatory requirements. Prepare technical documentation to support type testing and certification processes. Testing & Validation Define and execute comprehensive test plans, including mechanical endurance testing, environmental cycling, and lubrication validation. Analyze test failures, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective measures. Optimization & Value Engineering Recommend improvements in materials, tolerances, surface treatments, and lubrication for enhanced life and reduced costs. Support supplier qualification and component localization initiatives. Collaboration & Mentorship Work closely with electrical, material, and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless integration into switchgear assemblies. Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional R&D projects. Role Accountability

Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time. Provide a periodic report detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks. Problem-Solving : Solve any related problems that arise and escalate any complex operational issues. Quality : Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities. Business Process Improvements : Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible. Compliance : Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions. Health, Safety, and Environment : Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products / services. Qualifications & Experience
