We are building the world’s largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost-efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go onstream in 2026.

Reports To : Senior Maintenance Manager – Power Elements (PWE)
POSITION SUMMARY
Electrical Engineer shall be responsible to support and enable a reliable & efficient operation and maintenance of 2.97 GW dc solar PV farm in NEOM region. The main objective to ensure safe, reliable & efficient operation of solar PV farm by ensuring the safety of plant personnel and plant assets.
NATURE & SCOPE
The main functions of this position are :
- Must possess expert-level technical, electrical engineering management skills and knowledge in Solar Plant Electrical engineering tasks, along with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Support the Operation & Maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems from generating station i.e., Power skid to substation in compliance with OEM recommendations and approved schematics.
- Actively participate in plant O&M activities, Commissioning activities & safety compliance workshops.
- Enthusiastic to propose the Continuous improvement suggestion to keep elevating & enabling the best plant O&M practices.
- Proactively develop system and practices to encourage continuous workflow improvements and increase the asset productivity and efficiency.
- Regularly organize workshops to discuss critical issues with proposed solutions based on root cause analysis or revised OEM recommendations.
- Participate in EPC contractor site installation, testing and commissioning activities from O&M perspective.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that the team can monitor, maintain & restore the generating stations i.e., Inverters within the minimum time frame by performing necessary, appropriate & correct troubleshooting methods in line with OEM recommendations.Assist Construction & QC with inspection and punch lists of installation and vendor packages.Review mechanical completion for systems and sub-systems packages.Organize and document pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures and participate in system performance testing.Review and ensure that the Turnover Packages / Final Documentation is complete from maintenance perspective.Develop the plant operation and maintenance procedures and work instructions based on OEM manuals, standard industry practice.Identify & develop the operational and strategic spares for the smooth and reliable operation of the plant.Develop the technical scope of work for contractors or service providers.Extend support & supervise the team closely to ensure that the best O&M practices are being followed & well executed.Enhance Maintenance planning & scheduling by considering the availability of resources (Tools, Equipment & Manpower) & their distribution in the best possible way to optimize maintenance time & cost.Responsible for maintaining the Plant Maintenance KPIs benchmarking.Emphasize proactive (predictive & preventive) maintenance to reduce corrective maintenance.Responsible for proposing a continuous improvement program, which contributes to safe, reliable, productive & cost-effective O&M practices.Responsible for organizing & participating in root cause analysis workshops for any plant issues.Responsible for generating comprehensive incident reports for any events occurring in the plant in coordination with the operation team.Conduct Monthly review meetings with operation teams to retrospect & discuss the O&M philosophy & performance key points.Coordinate & provide the necessary data & documents to the Engineering team for analysis & review whenever requested.Supervise & support the commissioning activities to be performed in compliance with approved procedures, method statements & risk assessment.Perform frequent surprise site audits to verify that the O&M practices are being performed correctly by the site team as per standard procedures.Familiarize & guide the operation team for effective usage of the Plant CMMS system to build the historical database for real analytics.Responsible for timely responses to any emergency call-out requirements.Expert in identifying & resolving plant issues related to maintenance, operations & performance.Proactively monitor the asset condition and recommend corrective measures or life enhancement strategies.Deep understanding of electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Ensure during shift handover all information, data & records are passed over to the next shift with complete details & accuracy.Team Management & Training
Encourage & guide the team towards best O&M deliverables & how company objectives align with each individual employee objective.Ensure the smooth scheduling of refresher training programs as per O&M Training Matrix.Warranty Management
Responsible for generating warranty claims related to operation to various suppliers under warranty period.Ensure required information, data & documents are maintained & submitted to suppliers if requested.Reporting Matrix & Documentation
Regularly audit the O&M team to ensure that relevant documents records are well maintained in line with O&M agreement & OEM recommendations.Immediately report any plant issues to the line manager and concerned department as per communication matrix within the time frame along with possible root cause, restoration plan & future preventive / predictive actions plan.Extend required support & proper communication to other departments & PWEs in a timely manner to ensure smooth & effective operation of the company.Keep close & necessary interaction with the site operation & maintenance team to avoid communication gaps & delays in equipment restoration.HSSE
Ensure that every site activity is executed with approved procedures (SOPs), WMSRA, Risk Assessment (RA), checklist (if needed) or any other supporting document if recommended.Ensure the O&M team & sub-contractors / suppliers obtain PTW for each job and monitor them onsite for HSE compliance mitigations.Engage with the site team for identification of new hazards from ongoing tasks or any new task.Participate / Assist in reviewing / revising the task risk assessment (TRA) from time to time.Participate actively in the emergency response plan as per approved ERP.Support in executing emergency response drills.Assist when needed in HSE incidents / accident investigation.Ensure PTWs for all activities are issued as per approved WMSRA / PTW / LOTO system.Ensure the isolation & LOTO procedure for critical maintenance activities.Control and manage site EHS by imposing and applying NGHC-EHS policies and procedures.Verify the isolation & LOTO procedure for critical maintenance activities.SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS :
Professional in Microsoft Operating System (MS office).Mechanical or Electric / Electronic components fundamental knowledge.Solar Plant Performance gaps evaluation & representation.Leadership skill, negotiation skills, proactively managing the team of operators.Must be able to describe the Plant Performance Issues in a short & effective way.Knowledge of Solar Inverters System, Solar Tracking System & Substation Operation & Maintenance preferably HV / MV GIS substation.Advanced analytical, technical skills and knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as instrumentation & Electrical testing equipment.Deliverables on Time, Leadership & Adaptability : Be Enthusiastic & energetic to provide required deliverables within the time frame with quality standards.Lead & guide the team in line with company objectives & deliverables.ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electromechanical Engineering with minimum 7+ years of experience in a solar plant capacity greater & equal to 100MW.4 years’ experience in maintenance of utility-scale solar power plants with minimum size of 200 MW.DESIRED EDUCATION and / or QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
A bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electromechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in a solar plant capacity greater & equal to 200MW.Various certifications such as CMRP, CAMA etc. will be an added advantage.Seniority level : Mid-Senior level
