NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is on a mission to make a carbon-free, climate-safe future a reality. We are building the world’s largest plant to produce green ammonia at scale, providing humankind with a cost-efficient solution that will accelerate the worldwide green hydrogen economy. Located in NEOM and supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, NGHC will be integrating up to 4GW of onshore solar and wind energy to supply up to 650 tons of green ammonia per day for transportation globally. Operations will go onstream in 2026.

JOB DETAILS

Group : Maintenance PWE- BESS

Reports To : Maintenance Engineer - BESS

POSITION SUMMARY

BESS – Instrument Technician shall inspect, monitor, repair and calibrate the control instruments of 450MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in NEOM region. It shall support to maintain safety, equipment integrity and reliability of assets in accordance with NGHC maintenance strategy whilst ensuring uninterrupted plant operations and effective upkeep.

NATURE & SCOPE

The main functions of this position are :

  • Carry out daily maintenance work and routine preventative maintenance work according to set schedule and maintenance procedures.
  • Routine calibration of instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Oversee third-party maintenance contractors and report any deviation / non-conformance.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance disciplines for safe isolation of equipment and LOTO implementation.
  • Participate in EPC contractor site installation, testing and construction activities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in inspections for signalling, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of BESS plant equipment.
  • Experience in developing the plant maintenance procedures and work instructions based on OEM manuals.
  • Participate / witness installation / testing and commissioning stages of the EPC construction project.
  • Monitor the physical condition of instruments and its cabling in BESS plant and report non-conformances.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation & control failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Regularly verify the necessary stock levels of spare parts and support in effective inventory control.
  • Ensure that PTW and LOTO procedure are implemented effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    • SKILLS / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AREAS :

  • Good knowledge of maintenance of field instruments, signalling and SCADA equipment.
  • Basic understanding of WTG instrumentation.
  • Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    • ESSENTIAL EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A high school diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical, Instrument or Electromechanical Engineering with 5 years of maintenance of a solar plant capacity greater & equal to 100MW.
  • 5+ years’ experience in maintenance of utility-scale BESS power plants with minimum size of 100 MW.
