Job Description As a Housekeeping Order Taker you are responsible for handling all communications in and out of the Housekeeping Office to ensure a smooth running of the department. Your key responsibilities include :
Safe keeping, recording and collection of all keys and papers held within the Housekeeping Office
Sorting of all daily activity reports in the Housekeeping Office
Answering phone calls promptly, following proper telephone etiquette and per standards
Recording all incoming calls, ensuring all messages are disseminated and followed up accordingly
Handling all issues pertaining to Lost & Found - receiving, recording, storage, claiming and clearing
Updating and maintaining all housekeeping files
Updating and printing out the Opera system for the room discrepancy report by morning and afternoon and submitting a copy to Accounts and Front Office
Arranging baby-sitting for guests and preparing attendance sheets for the monthly payroll
Keeping and maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the Housekeeping Office
Clearing outdated reports on a monthly basis according to hotel standards for record keeping
Education, Qualifications & Experiences You should ideally have a diploma or vocational training within hospitality and previous experiences in a similar role. Good command of written and verbal English communication skills, along with good interpersonal abilities are essential. Computer literacy and previous experience with Opera are advantages.
Knowledge & Competencies The ideal candidate will be friendly, pleasant and courteous with cross-cultural sensitivity and a concern for quality and attention to detail. You will work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working with a multi-cultural team and guests, while possessing the following competencies :
