Overview
We are seeking an experienced Drilling Engineer to join our Unconventional Resources Drilling Department (URDD) . This role involves leading complex drilling engineering activities, supporting operational teams in delivering high-performance wells, and overseeing engineering projects from design through execution. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in unconventional resource development, cost optimization, and drilling efficiency within a safe and environmentally responsible framework.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive drilling and workover programs for various well types, including horizontal, extended reach (ERD), multi-lateral, HPHT, deepwater, and unconventional wells.
- Conduct engineering optimization studies to improve drilling performance and reduce operational costs.
- Design casing and completion systems; assist in evaluating new mud systems, cementing technologies, and well construction practices.
- Prepare detailed cost analyses, performance reports, and completion summaries for management and operations teams.
- Establish and implement standard drilling procedures and development practices that align with safety, economic, and environmental goals.
- Provide technical consultation on equipment design, procurement, and operational challenges.
- Serve as Project Engineer on drilling and well construction projects, coordinating engineering input and execution planning.
- Analyze drilling data to identify performance trends and recommend design or process enhancements.
- Participate in training and mentorship programs for junior engineers and technical staff.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Core Competencies & Technical Skills
Extensive experience in unconventional drilling environments.Strong knowledge of advanced drilling technologies, tools, and equipment.Proven ability to plan and execute complex well designs (e.g., ERD, HPHT, multi-lateral).Proficient in engineering software used for well planning, modeling, and economic evaluation.Skilled in analyzing drilling performance data and implementing optimization strategies.Effective communicator and team leader with problem-solving capabilities.Minimum Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering).Experience : Minimum of 10 years of drilling engineering experience, with clear recognition as a Senior Drilling Engineer .Demonstrated leadership in technically demanding drilling projects.Other Requirements
Willingness to occasionally work in remote areas and stay in mobile field camps as required by operational needs.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.High degree of initiative and accountability in managing technical challenges.#J-18808-Ljbffr
