Sr. Project Inspector (communication)

Diploma or degree in relevant discipline.

1. Perform a variety of complex inspection functions within the assigned inspection discipline in addition to providing day-to-day work directions as required for the inspection of new or existing facilities. This ensures that materials are correct for the intended service, work performed conforms with engineering specifications and / or SAUDI ARAMCO Standards, and monitors the implementation of the project Quality Control Program with minimal supervision. Examples of this inspection include but are not limited to the following :

• Perform inspection on the installation and construction of outside plant cables (copper & fiber optic), manholes, and conduit, and internal building distribution systems. This includes the transmission quality, bonding, grounding, and protection of such plant.
• Perform inspection on all phases of the splicing and testing of cable systems (copper & fiber optic).
• Review cable and ground measurement test data for the basis of acceptance.
• Review complex drawings to determine if the design is within the scope, applicable codes, and standards.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, and provide work directions to contracted inspectors, as required. This includes methods, reports, and correspondence associated with assuring the implementation and conformance to codes and SAUDI ARAMCO and other applicable International standards.

2. Review and comment on revisions to the SAUDI ARAMCO and Industry standards.

3. Review and comment on quality control programs developed in construction contractors.

4. Perform in-depth design reviews to verify conformance to company engineering standards and specifications on projects in the design and construction stage.

5. Write inspection reports, worksheets, non-compliance reports, and make logbook entries of on-site inspection findings and maintain inspection records.

6. Perform other miscellaneous related duties as directed by the field supervisor.

7. Train SAUDI ARAMCO personnel.

8. Review inspection waiver requests to ensure they accurately represent the condition described.

Job Specification

1. Engineering or Technical School Graduate of Electronics & Communication / Electrical Engineering.

2. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

3. 15 years of industrial construction experience, including 10 years of inspection-related experience in a given inspection specialty.

4. Shall be fully conversant with internationally known industry standards and specifications.

5. Must demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of telecommunications and be familiar with North American or International Telecommunications Standards, Building Industry Consulting Services International - Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (BICSI-TDMM), National Electrical Codes, and National Electrical Safety Codes, or their equivalents.

6. Computer literate.
