The Design Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all design aspects of construction projects from conception through completion. This position requires a strategic thinker who can balance creative design solutions with practical construction requirements while managing stakeholders and ensuring project goals are met. Responsibilities

Lead the design management process across all project phases, ensuring design quality, buildability, and alignment with client requirements Coordinate and manage design consultants, architects, and engineers to deliver cohesive design solutions Review and validate design documents for compliance with project specifications, regulations, and standards Facilitate design workshops and coordinate design reviews with project stakeholders Manage the design change process, including evaluation of cost and schedule impacts Develop and maintain the design program and project brief in collaboration with the client Ensure timely production and delivery of design packages to support construction activities Identify design risks and implement mitigation strategies Maintain design quality control systems throughout the project lifecycle Bridge communication between design and construction teams to resolve technical challenges Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field 7-10 years of experience in design management for construction projects Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and construction methodologies Proven track record of successfully managing complex design processes Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to various audiences Proficiency in design and construction documentation software Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities Experience with sustainable design principles and practices Professional certification (PMP, AIA, LEED AP, etc.) preferred Details
