Steam Trap Specialist

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical field preferred. Advanced Steam Trap Inspection and Testing :

Lead thorough inspections of steam traps across a wide range of industrial systems to identify inefficiencies, malfunctions, or leaks. Use advanced diagnostic tools (such as ultrasound or infrared technology) to test steam traps for accurate performance evaluation.

System Optimization and Energy Management :

Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the performance of steam traps to maximize energy efficiency and minimize steam loss. Collaborate with energy management and engineering teams to assess overall system performance and recommend improvements to reduce energy consumption and operational costs.

Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting :

Serve as the subject matter expert on steam traps, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex issues in steam systems. Ensure proper selection, installation, and maintenance of steam traps to meet the operational needs of the facility.

Preventive Maintenance and Repairs :

Develop and execute a preventive maintenance schedule for steam traps to ensure system reliability and longevity. Coordinate or perform repairs and replacements of defective steam traps, ensuring minimal system downtime.

Compliance and Safety :

Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations. Implement safety protocols when working with high-pressure steam systems and ensure proper documentation of safety procedures.

Job Specification

In-depth knowledge of steam trap operation, maintenance, and diagnostic tools. Strong understanding of steam distribution systems, including boilers, piping, and condensate recovery. Ability to identify and implement energy-saving measures in steam systems. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on system performance.
