Job description

Overview

QTech is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability across all environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Management : Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database versions 12c and 19c, including applying related updates and patches.
  • Manage and configure WebLogic 12c application servers.

Performance Tuning

  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure fast and efficient operations.

    • Backup and Recovery

  • Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN to ensure data protection and availability.

    • Security Management

  • Establish and enforce database security policies, including user access controls and data encryption.

    • Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing technical support to users and IT teams.

    • Documentation

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and policies.

    • Collaboration

  • Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other technical teams to ensure database stability and integration.

    • Skills

    Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and management tools.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL / SQL, with solid experience in database design, backup, and recovery systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in Oracle Forms & Reports development is preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
