JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

The Supervisor, Pre-Outfitting - Piping is responsible for overseeing and managing the pre-outfitting activities in the shipbuilding process. They lead a team of industrial workers and ensure that the preoutfitting tasks are performed efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with engineering specifications, safety regulations, and production schedules. They coordinate resources, communicate with other departments, and maintain a productive work environment. Their objective is to optimize the pre-outfitting process, achieve high-quality standards, meet project timelines, and contribute to the successful completion of shipbuilding projects. Additionally, the Supervisor fosters a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the Pre-Outfitting – Piping team.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise and lead a team of industrial workers in the pre-outfitting activities, including equipment installation, cable routing, and system integration.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to understand pre-outfitting requirements.
• Coordinate with the engineering department to clarify any uncertainties or issues related to pre-outfitting tasks.
• Assign tasks to industrial workers and ensure they have the necessary resources and equipment to perform their duties effectively.
• Monitor the progress of pre-outfitting activities and provide guidance and support as needed.
• Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure that the pre-outfitting meets the required standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with other departments such as the design and electrical departments to resolve any technical or coordination issues.
• Report on any issues or delays to the department manager and propose solutions for improvement.
• Train and mentor new industrial workers, providing guidance on pre-outfitting techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education

Diploma or equivalent (required); technical certifications or vocational training in pre-outfitting processes (preferred).

Professional Qualifications

Valid professional qualification.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Experience

Minimum 11-13 years of experience in shipbuilding.

Proven experience in shipbuilding or a related industry, with a strong background in pre-outfitting processes.

Languages

Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
