Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Senior Manager, Health & Safety - Roads to oversee and enhance our health and safety strategies for road construction and maintenance projects. This leadership role is crucial in establishing a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety performance across all road-related operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing policies, conducting risk assessments, leading training programs, and collaborating with project teams to integrate health and safety practices into daily operations. You will play a key role in incident analysis and mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel involved in road projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage health and safety programs specifically for road construction and maintenance activities.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and develop action plans to address root causes, ensuring lessons learned are communicated effectively.
- Provide technical expertise and support to project managers and teams on health and safety matters.
- Design and deliver health and safety training programs tailored to road work scenarios, ensuring all personnel are knowledgeable about safety protocols.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Stay informed on industry developments, best practices, and changing legislation related to health and safety in road construction.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in health and safety management, with a focus on road construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices relevant to roadworks.
- Proven leadership experience in managing health and safety programs and teams.
- Excellent analytical skills with experience in incident investigation and risk assessment methodologies.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse teams.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in safety culture and performance.
