Overview
Rosewood Red Sea and Rosewood AMAALA, part of the ultra-luxury Red Sea Global destination, are seeking an accomplished and strategic Cluster Director of Purchasing to join our pre-opening leadership team. This pivotal role will oversee all procurement functions across both iconic properties, ensuring seamless sourcing, timely delivery, and uncompromising quality of goods and services that align with Rosewood’s philosophy of A Sense of Place and Red Sea Global’s commitment to sustainability.
The successful candidate will establish robust procurement systems, build long-term supplier partnerships, and deliver cost efficiencies without compromising on luxury standards. As part of the pre-opening leadership team, the Cluster Director of Purchasing will play a key role in supporting OS&E and FF&E planning, operational readiness, and long-term procurement strategies for both resorts.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Procurement Leadership – Lead all purchasing and supply chain operations across Rosewood Red Sea and Rosewood AMAALA, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and brand compliance.
- Strategic Procurement Leadership – Develop and implement cluster-wide procurement strategies, policies, and procedures that balance cost optimization with uncompromised luxury standards.
- Strategic Procurement Leadership – Ensure full compliance with local regulations, Rosewood corporate guidelines, and Red Sea Global procurement frameworks.
- Pre-Opening Readiness – Oversee all pre-opening purchasing activities, including OS&E and FF&E procurement, vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, and delivery scheduling.
- Pre-Opening Readiness – Collaborate with design, project, and operations teams to ensure timely commissioning and readiness of all supplies and equipment.
- Pre-Opening Readiness – Establish warehousing, receiving, and inventory management systems to support smooth operations at opening.
- Pre-Opening Readiness – Develop and manage cluster-wide budgets and forecasts for procurement.
- Pre-Opening Readiness – Negotiate supplier contracts to secure optimal pricing, favorable terms, and long-term value.
- Pre-Opening Readiness – Monitor market trends, global supply chain challenges, and price fluctuations to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
- Sustainability & Compliance – Champion Red Sea Global’s regenerative tourism vision by prioritizing eco-friendly, sustainable, and ethically sourced goods.
- Sustainability & Compliance – Implement environmentally responsible purchasing practices that reduce waste and carbon footprint.
- Sustainability & Compliance – Conduct regular supplier audits and ensure compliance with sustainability benchmarks and corporate governance.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relations – Build and maintain a diverse supplier base including local, regional, and international partners to ensure flexibility and reliability.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relations – Collaborate closely with Culinary, Rooms, Engineering, Finance, and other departments across both properties to align procurement with operational needs.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relations – Act as the key liaison with Red Sea Global, Rosewood corporate procurement, and asset management on procurement-related matters.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relations – Recruit, inspire, and lead a high-performing purchasing team across both resorts, fostering a culture of ethics, accountability, and excellence.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relations – Implement training programs, succession planning, and career development initiatives to build future procurement leaders.
- Supplier & Stakeholder Relations – Drive collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the properties to maximize efficiency and best practices.
Qualifications
Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, or Hospitality Management.Minimum 12–15 years of progressive purchasing experience in luxury hospitality, with at least 5 years in a senior director or cluster leadership role.Strong pre-opening experience with OS&E and FF&E procurement for ultra-luxury hotels or resorts is highly preferred.Proven success in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimization.Demonstrated expertise in sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.Strong financial acumen with a track record of managing large-scale procurement budgets.Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse multicultural teams.Fluency in English required; additional languages are an asset.Seniority level
