Consultant Emergency Medicine

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Provide medical and surgical care for patients admitted under the assigned department.
• Ensure timely reporting and handling of all medico-legal cases in accordance with hospital policies.
• Participate in clinical and academic activities, including training sessions and departmental meetings.
• Contribute to patient and family education regarding healthy lifestyles, and support community awareness on health-related matters.
• Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to duty schedules.
• Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Obtain informed consent from patients before undertaking diagnostic procedures, operations, or tests.
• Support and participate in patient-centered care initiatives.
• Provide orientation, bedside teaching, and supervision for interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
• Engage in continuous self-development and contribute to the training and educational programs of the department.
• Deliver patient care with compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Perform other tasks and duties aligned with professional knowledge, skills, and responsibilities.

Requirements

Graduate of a recognized Medical School.

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the specialty after obtaining postgraduate qualifications, preferably in a tertiary care hospital.

Membership, Fellowship, or Board Certification in the respective specialty.
