The Role of the Assistant Purchasing Manager The assistant purchasing manager assists in the managing and coordination of the overall operations of the purchasing department to ensure that all departments of the hotel have adequate supplies to perform their duties in an efficient manner, within the parameters of the operational budgets.
The assistant purchasing manager ensures that the hotel operates within all related local and corporate policies and procedures pertaining to the purchasing function, including compliance with corporate purchasing programs and group purchasing initiatives where applicable.
Knowledge And Skills
A minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience is required.
Previous experience working in a managerial / supervisory capacity.
Experience in a hotel organization is an asset.
Degree in a hospitality or business management program.
