Job Description & Summary

What is expected from you?

As an External Audit Senior Associate you will contribute to delivering the best service to our clients. You will report to Managers and above, working as part of a team that helps clients build trust, solve complex challenges, and proactively manage multiple engagements. Your duties include, but are not limited to :

  • Using analytical skills to analyse clients’ financial statements and ensure adherence to financial regulations
  • Examining financial and accounting records, other documents, and tangible items such as inventory or plant and equipment
  • Asking a range of questions to individuals at client organizations
  • Testing the client’s internal controls and processes
  • Building trust and credibility with clients by understanding expectations and delivering high-quality services
  • Researching and understanding key client industry information before the engagement
  • Communicating with the Manager and / or Partner in a timely manner regarding engagement progress, risks, issues, and variances from plan (time, budget, etc.)
  • Taking full ownership of external file completion
  • Analyzing engagement economics and explaining variances from budgets
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff and providing on-the-job training and feedback
  • Ensuring compliance with risk, quality, and independence requirements
  • Engaging with diverse teams from planning through completion and tracking progress to meet timelines and internal KPIs
  • Participating in digital initiatives and upskilling aligned with team needs
  • Performing other procedures as necessary to support issuance of assurance deliverables

What you will bring

You are ambitious and seek opportunities to grow. The following characteristics are relevant :

  • A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • Progress towards or completion of a professional qualification (ACCA, CA, ACA, CPA preferred)
  • Progressive Senior Associate level experience with external audit clients in a Big 4 firm
  • Experience with diverse industries
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for a team environment
  • Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (oral and written) is a plus
  • Business development and client relationship skills
  • Willingness to challenge norms and contribute to a cohesive team
  • Strong project management skills
  • Knowledge of audit technologies and data analytics is a plus
  • Commitment to valuing differences and working with diverse people
  • Thorough technical knowledge of applicable accounting, reporting, and auditing standards
  • Experience designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality
  • Experience coaching and leading engagement teams
  • Ability to research issues, present alternatives, and draw conclusions for clients / managers
