Role Overview :
As an Enterprise Architect at webook, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing an enterprise architecture that aligns with our business goals, supports rapid growth, and prepares us for an IPO. Reporting to the CTO, you will be responsible for establishing architecture frameworks, setting standards, and driving innovation across multiple technology domains. This position requires a highly experienced architect with a strategic mindset, technical depth, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a robust, scalable digital infrastructure.
The Enterprise Architect will work closely with other architects and technology leaders to deliver solutions that ensure seamless integration, high performance, and security across webook's platforms.
Key Responsibilities :
Enterprise Architecture Design :
- Develop and implement a cohesive enterprise architecture that supports webook's business strategy, focusing on scalability, resilience, and alignment with the company's IPO objectives
- Define and document architecture principles, standards, and frameworks to be adopted across the technology organization
Strategic Technology Planning :
Collaborate with the CTO and senior leadership to create a multi-year technology roadmap that aligns with business goals and market positioningIdentify and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending those that align with webook's strategic initiatives and ensure future readinessSystem Integration and Optimization :
Design and oversee complex systems integration across webook's platforms, ensuring seamless connectivity, data consistency, and performance optimisationDevelop and implement strategies for optimising data management, including cloud services, databases (SQL and NoSQL), and cachingGovernance and Compliance :
Establish governance frameworks to ensure all technology solutions comply with industry regulations and IPO standards for a publicly traded companyDefine policies and procedures for architecture governance, including review boards, technical standards, and compliance auditsCollaboration and Stakeholder Management :
Work closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure architectural alignment with functional requirements and business goalsGuide cross-functional teams on architecture best practices, ensuring alignment with established frameworks and standardsRisk Management and Security :
Identify potential risks within the architecture, including security vulnerabilities and scalability bottlenecks, and work proactively to mitigate themCollaborate with security teams to integrate robust security measures across all platforms, meeting regulatory and investor requirementsMentorship and Development :
Mentor and guide junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and collaboration within the architecture teamContribute to team development by sharing insights, hosting workshops, and promoting best practices in enterprise architectureRequirements
Experience :
10+ years of experience in technology roles, with at least 5 years in enterprise architecture, preferably within high-growth technology companies or digital platformsProven track record in designing and implementing scalable architectures for complex, high-traffic applications, ideally in the FinTech, event management, or related sectorsEducational Background :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related fieldTechnical Expertise :Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and experience in defining and implementing enterprise-wide standardsExpertise in cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Proficiency in both SQL and NoSQL databases, with hands-on experience in data management and optimisation for scalable systemsSolid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and integration strategies for complex digital platformsFamiliarity with DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, and tools such as Jenkins or GitLab for streamlined development and deploymentAnalytical and Strategic Skills :
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the ability to design architecture solutions that meet both immediate project requirements and long-term business goalsAbility to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligning architecture decisions with business objectivesSoft Skills :
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teamsStrong organisational and time management skills, handling multiple projects and prioritising effectively in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Qualifications :Certifications :
Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, or Azure Architect are highly desirablePublic Company / IPO Experience :Experience with technology governance, compliance, and security standards for public companies or IPO preparation is a strong advantageIndustry Knowledge :Background in FinTech, e-commerce, event management, or related industries, with a proven ability to design scalable, customer-focused technology solutionsSeniority level
