Job Purpose / Objective Consultant IVF is fully responsible for providing high standards of clinical practice and expertise in assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in obstetrics & gynaecology requiring IVF services and related conditions. The physician should also be involved in continuous quality improvement activities of the department and hospital to achieve the goals of HMG.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Manage assigned clinics as per the approved rota by the Medical Director.

Admit patients under care when indicated within the limits of approved privileges.

Perform initial assessment, investigation, analysis, interpretation of clinical findings and test results, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

Prescribe and administer medications or therapies to treat or prevent complications.

Explain procedures and discuss results with patients and / or their attendants.

Monitor patient progress, re-evaluate, and treat accordingly.

Refer patients to other specialists when necessary and consult with other physicians as requested.

Conduct daily rounds on admitted and referred patients.

Document all medical records accurately and update patient progress.

Authenticate medical records with own credentials.

Review and validate entries of junior staff under care.

Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for which privileged.

Approve discharge summaries, follow-up plans, and medical reports.

Assume department head duties as required.

Implement hospital policies, procedures, and clinical pathways.

Supervise and coordinate activities of medical staff involved in patient care.

Contribute to policy development and quality improvement programs.

Participate in hospital / department committees.

Respect Islamic values and medical ethics.

Be on-call as per hospital policy and participate in emergency responses.

Provide medical reports and information as required.

Identify and report medico-legal cases timely.

Participate in clinical and academic activities.

Educate patients and families on healthy lifestyles and community health issues.

Maintain punctuality and follow hospital policies.

Obtain informed consent for procedures.

Lead and participate in patient-centered care initiatives.

Provide training and supervision to trainees.

Engage in continuous education and departmental training programs.

Enhance patient experience with compassion and dignity.

Perform other duties within expertise as assigned.

Requirements Education / Professional Qualification

Graduate of Medical School recognized by the Medical Council.

Completion of internship and residency programs.

Postgraduate qualifications in the specialty.

Experience

At least three years of practice in the specialty after obtaining higher degree in a tertiary care hospital.

Subspecialty training preferred.

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training

Membership, Fellowship, or Board Certification in the specialty.

Relevant licensure acceptable to Saudi authorities.
