Warehouse Operative

Job Purpose

• To ensure offloading, put-away, picking and packing processes for inbound and outbound operations are performed efficiently and in a timely manner using assigned equipment. In addition the incumbent must ensure that the assigned equipment under his care is maintained in good condition

Job Requirements
Education/Certification and Continued Education

• High School Level Education

Years of Experience

• 2-3 year warehouse operations experience

Knowledge and Skills

• Forklift license issued by approved authority

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Functional Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate the forklift appropriately and ensure that no accidents / damages are caused due to negligence and ensure the forklift is optimally utilized and regularly maintained.

• Accurately pick items from locations for outbound shipments and check that the items tally as per the pick list generated. Indicate all the details of items picked in the required format and if required, scan all items or re-check before loading.

• Support the Storekeeper/Supervisor in tasks like stock checks, cycle counts, and others as may be assigned from time to time.

• Assess the equipment daily to highlight any trouble/ complaint and resolve these complaints (e.g: battery water level check, brake test, running problems) or report to the Storekeeper/Supervisor for immediate trouble shooting ensuring smooth operation of equipment.

• Maintain HSE practices in the working environment in order to minimize the opportunity of damage property and injury to self and colleagues. Pro-actively remind colleagues to behave in line with the HSE processes defined by the company.

• Full support to be given to the picking and receiving team to ensure high level of productivity.

• Ensure no pallets are left in the aisle and pallets are putaway in their respective locations to avoid any location discrepancies.

• All unused and empty pallets should be removed from the floor / yard and stacked away in their designated area.
