Overview

Senior Assistant, Ship Wright at International Maritime Industries. Location : Ras Al Khair, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. Role involves hull construction work in the PE & Dock area from fabrication to launch and delivery, with emphasis on safety and precise fit-up and welding as per drawings.

Responsibilities

Create a safe working environment; keep area clean, ensure proper lighting, ventilation, extinguishers, and tidy cables.
Comply with safety regulations and working standards; thoroughly wear and use safety equipment.
Actively participate in safety checks and toolbox talks.
Perform assigned tasks within the specified time and deadlines.
Work under the direction of the manager and ensure work is performed with proper qualifications and adherence to drawings and WPS standards; interpret drawings and set up hull blocks for accurate fit-up; manage hull block setting and marking (draft marks, ship name, BHD, etc.).

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Diploma or equivalent.

Certified 2G, 3G welder (ABS / Class Certified). Optional : Skid loader license, forklift license.

Competencies : Familiar with SMAW and FCAW welding; 2G / 3G qualified; professional cutting skills; experience using measurement tools (3D measurement, theodolite); ability to inspect materials and equipment; knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use PPE; ability to read drawings and WPS; good English communication skills.

Experience : 6 to 11 years in the shipyard / ship repair industry; good communication skills in English.
