Role
Project Control Specialist – responsible for project controls for a rail / metro project, including scheduling, cost management, risk assessment, change control and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight for development, review and monitoring of project schedules and the master program schedule, incorporating individual package schedules
- Develop and manage project reporting formats and procedures
- Develop and manage the document management system structure and tools
- Provide recommendations to manage project risks and improve financial performance
- Support the project team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems
- Interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and provide statistical reports
- Provide guidance on project cost and time issues
- Manage and coordinate preparation and maintenance of budgets and cost estimates
- Develop and maintain status reports including schedule status, financial analysis, cost performance and earned value
- Generate critical milestones for construction through discussions with the Project Manager and interface evaluation
- Monitor actual progress versus planned progress
- Monitor production rates and compare with plan
- Manage regular site inspections to assess contractor progress against the schedule
- Assess the impact of design / construction changes and schedule slippages
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil or electrical engineering12 years' experience in rail, metro or related project experienceRecent leadership / managerial experience in cost, schedules and project controlsStrong planning and scheduling experience in design and construction rail projectsFully competent with Primavera (P6) planning and project control systemsKnowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft ProjectExcellent English written and oral communication skills for client and team interactionAbility to present to management and interface with a diverse group of professionalsSeniority level
