Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage our purchasing and procurement operations on a tramway project. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of demonstrated experience in purchasing and procurement, with a strong track record of managing vendor relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organizational goals and requirements. Analyze market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
Vendor Management
Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible deals. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or discrepancies.
Purchasing Operations
Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, ordering, and delivery of goods and services. Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of purchase orders and resolve any issues related to procurement.
Cost Management
Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce procurement costs. Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring compliance with financial targets.
Process Improvement
Continuously review and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and innovative solutions in procurement and supply chain management.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier correspondence.
Team Management
Lead and mentor the purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the procurement department.
Reporting and Analysis
Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and market trends. Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CPSM) are a plus.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, with a proven track record of managing complex procurement activities and vendor relationships.
Technical Knowledge
Proficiency with procurement software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba). Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
