Woodston Personnel is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join our clients growing Emergency Department. Responsibilities
Deliver expert emergency care to patients presenting with a full spectrum of acute medical surgical trauma and psychiatric conditions.
Provide timely assessment diagnosis stabilization and management of critically ill or injured patients of all age groups.
Perform and supervise emergency procedures such as intubation, central line insertion, chest tube insertion, procedural sedation, fracture reduction and advanced resuscitation techniques.
Lead major trauma and resuscitation efforts and function as a team leader in high-acuity scenarios.
Supervise and support junior doctors emergency medicine residents and other clinical staff during shifts.
Promote a culture of safety efficiency and teamwork within the Emergency Department.
Liaise and coordinate with inpatient teams subspecialists intensive care and surgical services to ensure continuity of care.
Participate in the teaching and training of residents interns and medical students.
Conduct case-based discussions simulation sessions and contribute to departmental continuing medical education (CME).
Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
Participate actively in clinical governance activities including mortality and morbidity reviews root cause analysis and quality improvement projects.
Contribute to the development implementation and review of clinical guidelines protocols and care pathways in line with evidence-based practices.
Uphold standards in clinical documentation patient safety and risk management.
Engage in research activities within emergency medicine and support institutional research priorities.
Present at academic forums conferences and contribute to publications where applicable.
Participate in departmental planning development of policies and operational improvements.
Serve on hospital committees as delegated by departmental leadership.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications : one of the following certifications is required :
Minimum of 34 years of independent clinical experience post-board certification or fellowship in Emergency Medicine at the consultant or attending physician level.
