JOB SUMMARY : The International Mechanic is primarily responsible for ensuring the mechanical safety and integrity of operations, maintaining the continual function of mechanical equipment on H&P rigs. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to H&P’s culture by delivering mechanical leadership workshops, coaching field leaders, developing consistent mechanical solutions, and training staff in maintenance best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Demonstrate core values and safety standards according to the H&P way.
- Ensure the safe mechanical operation of drill rigs, related equipment, and personnel, complying with all relevant mechanical standards, health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Evaluate mechanical problems and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct safety inspections of mechanical components, perform repairs and adjustments, and maintain compliance with equipment and H&P standards.
- Install new equipment, retrofits, upgrades, and verify proper operation.
- Manage mechanical parts inventory and ensure availability of necessary parts.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Lead job-related JSA and Compass Card Meetings.
- Complete Expert level of the BOP training in WorkDay and stay current with all assigned trainings. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
- Proficient in using Permitted Operations Management System (POMS).
- Capable of entering detailed service reports into the E.A.M. system.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Complete preventative maintenance procedures efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant H&P policies and local, regional, and federal regulations.
- Responsible for implementing safety measures to prevent mechanical failures, injuries, or near misses.
- Provide regular updates and collaborate closely with site management.
- Consult with crews to optimize safety and productivity.
- Willingness to learn relevant legislation related to drilling, electrical standards, HSE obligations, and working on indigenous land.

- Be flexible, adaptable, and capable of overcoming challenges.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trust with H&P leaders.

- Minimum 3 years of experience with rig drilling machinery and equipment.
- Level 1 Mechanic with 3+ years’ experience as an H&P Mechanic.
- Previous experience working in indigenous environments.
