The Chief Database Geoscientist understands both database infrastructure / management as well as the exploration workflow. They adapt and customize procedures and the database structure to suit the needs of the exploration team. They are responsible for a team of database geoscientists who support and maintain the integrity and quality of exploration data.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive knowledge of SQL and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Extensive experience in Fusion, DataShed, or Aquire.
- Geological database experience at a major mining company or a medium-tier company with an extensive project portfolio.
- Experience implementing a database system at a new site.
Personal Attributes and Competencies
Focus on error prevention rather than correction; detail-oriented.Ability to recognize anomalous data readily.Willingness to integrate exploration principles with data management.Knowledge of Python and big data analytical tools is an advantage.Skill in Business Intelligence visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.Leadership and Communication
