Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to join our team in Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of construction projects, including cost tracking, budget management, and audit preparation. A key responsibility is leading and supporting quarterly audit processes and ensuring full compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Accounting
- Monitor and track construction project costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Record and reconcile project-related expenditures, including materials, labor, and subcontractor payments.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly project financial statements.
- Review contracts and ensure proper cost allocation in accordance with project scopes.
Audit & Compliance
Prepare and organize financial documentation and workpapers for quarterly internal and external audits.Serve as the primary point of contact for auditors and ensure timely submission of requested data.Maintain documentation to support financial entries and audit trails in accordance with IFRS or SOCPA.Ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements, including Zakat, VAT, and other relevant laws.Assist with month-end and quarter-end closing processes.Prepare cash flow statements, cost-to-complete reports, and variance analysis.Support financial forecasting and budgeting activities.Process Improvement
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and other departments to ensure cohesive financial oversight.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Minimum 5–7 years of experience in construction accounting, preferably within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost allocation, and revenue recognition.Experience with audit preparation and liaison, including quarterly or annual audits.Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks Enterprise is used) and Microsoft Excel.Knowledge of Saudi regulatory and tax framework is a plus.High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is required.Compensation
