Job Description – Accountant (SAP Experienced)

1. Basic Information

  • Position Title : Accountant
  • Department : Finance & Accounting Department
  • Reporting to : Finance Manager / Plant General Manager
  • Location : Chinese-invested Seed Factory in Saudi Arabia

2. Position Objective

Responsible for managing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with Saudi tax and regulatory requirements. Ensure accurate bookkeeping and financial control by effectively using SAP ERP system.

3. Key Responsibilities

3.1 General Accounting

  • Handle daily accounting entries (AP, AR, GL, asset, inventory modules) in SAP.
  • Ensure accurate posting of vouchers and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation calculation.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate data and documentation.
  • Provide financial analysis reports to management and HQ in China.

    • 3.3 Tax & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ZATCA (Saudi Tax Authority) requirements including VAT, withholding tax, and zakat.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure payroll-related compliance with GOSI and WPS.

    • 3.4 SAP System & Process Control

  • Manage accounting processes through SAP FI / CO modules.
  • Support system configuration and data accuracy.
  • Provide training and support to finance team on SAP usage.

    • 3.5 Treasury & Cost Control

  • Monitor bank transactions, cash flow, and monthly reconciliations.
  • Support budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Monitor cost allocation and provide cost-saving recommendations.

    • 3.6 Coordination & Reporting

  • Communicate with China HQ on financial consolidation requirements.

    • 4. Requirements

    4.1 Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus.

    • 4.2 Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years accounting experience in manufacturing or trading industry.
  • At least 2 years hands-on experience with SAP ERP (FI / CO required; MM preferred).
  • Knowledge of Saudi tax and regulatory requirements is strongly preferred.

    • 4.3 Skills

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills in English; Chinese / Arabic is an advantage.

    • 5. Performance KPIs

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
  • Compliance rate with tax and regulatory requirements.
  • SAP transaction accuracy rate.
  • Audit findings resolution rate.
  • Cost variance control within approved budget.
