Overview

ASMO is a groundbreaking joint venture between DHL and Aramco. Inheriting DHL’s logistics excellence and Aramco’s extensive supply chain ecosystem, we are here to set a new benchmark and redefine the procurement and supply chain landscape, enabling growth. ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.

Objective

The Application Architect is responsible for contributing to the design of ASMO’s IT application to ensure seamless integration between different applications and systems. This role focuses on providing input to the Enterprise Architecture Manager so that they can create a strategic and holistic view of technology within ASMO.

The role holder will have knowledge of the rules, procedures and in some cases, the principles and practices within the Enterprise Architecture discipline.

General Responsibilities

  • Document the architecture principles, guidelines, and standards for application development within ASMO, collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into application architecture designs, and develop application architecture blueprints, including high-level and detailed design specifications, to guide development teams.
  • Design and architect integration solutions to enable seamless data flow and communication between different applications and systems.
  • Define conceptual and logical architecture specifications for application architecture along with roadmap for the evolution of application architecture from current to future state.
  • Identify integration patterns, protocols, and technologies suitable for ASMO's integration needs.
  • Help define integration frameworks, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in integration efforts.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate application platforms, frameworks, and technologies to support ASMO’s strategic direction.
  • Develop and maintain a roadmap for application and integration initiatives, considering factors such as scalability, interoperability, and security.
  • Review and approve application designs, development plans, and integration solutions to ensure compliance with the defined architecture.
  • Create and maintain the reference architecture, associated artifacts and design principles for integration and application architecture.
  • Monitor and assess the ongoing compliance of applications and integration projects with the established architecture.
  • Provide architectural guidance and support to development teams during the solution design phase.
  • Assess proposed application designs and integration solutions to ensure they align with architectural standards, principles, and strategic objectives.
  • Conduct impact assessments of proposed changes or enhancements to existing applications and integration points.
  • Collaborate with other architects (integration architects, infrastructure architects, security architects) on application architecture efforts, as required.
  • Recommend training and development interventions for team members to build their capabilities.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Implement all relevant IT Strategy & Governance department’s policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Contribute to the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet departmental requirements, policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, information technology or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is required.
  • Master’s degree in business administration, computer science, information technology or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), Zachman Certified Enterprise Architect (ZCEA), Certified IT Architect, or any relevant certifications preferredز
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
  • 7 years’ experience in the same Field.
