The Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing, analyzing, and executing pricing strategies for consumer and commercial technology product lines that enhance profitability and competitiveness. This role ensures competitive pricing, profitability, and market alignment by leveraging data analytics, competitor insights, and customer behavior. Job Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy Development & Optimization Conduct market research to analyze competitor pricing, industry trends, and customer demand. Develop dynamic pricing models for both consumer and commercial tech products hardware based on cost, value, and market positioning. Recommend pricing adjustments for new and existing products (e.g., limited editions, bundles). Collaborate with product managers to align pricing with product lifecycle stages (launch, growth, maturity). Test and refine pricing strategies using A / B testing, promotions, and discount structures. Cost & Profitability Analysis Work with procurement and finance teams to understand product costs (materials, manufacturing, logistics). Calculate gross margins and break-even points for hardware products and accessories. Identify pricing inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions (e.g., cost reductions, premium pricing). Monitor sales performance and profitability by product line, region, and channel. Competitive & Market Intelligence Track competitor pricing strategies, promotions, and product launches in the gaming hardware space. Analyze customer price sensitivity and willingness-to-pay through surveys and sales data. Benchmark company pricing against industry standards and emerging trends (e.g., subscription models). Provide insights to leadership on pricing threats and opportunities (e.g., tariff impacts, component shortages). Pricing Execution & Systems Management Maintain and update pricing databases, ensuring accuracy across ERP and CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce). Implement approved pricing changes in collaboration with sales, e-commerce, and retail teams. Ensure compliance with regional pricing regulations and contractual agreements (MAP policies). Train sales and customer support teams on pricing structures, discounts, and exceptions. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with marketing to design promotional pricing (holiday sales, loyalty discounts). Support sales teams with pricing tools and negotiation guidelines for B2B / B2C deals. Assist finance in forecasting revenue impacts of pricing changes. Work with product development to price new innovations (e.g., VR headsets, modular PCs). Reporting & Performance Tracking Generate pricing performance reports (revenue impact, margin trends, discount effectiveness). Monitor KPIs such as price elasticity, conversion rates, and average selling price (ASP). Present findings to senior leadership with actionable recommendations. Qualifications
B.A. in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field : Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) certification is a plus. 3+ years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or strategic planning; consumer and commercial tech hardware industry is a must; gaming preferred). Advanced Excel, data visualization (Power BI, Tableau), ERP / CRM systems. Understanding of gaming hardware markets, competitive landscape, and consumer behavior. Skills
