Site Superintendent

Job Description

• Responsible for site production and planning daily work activities.
• Control and direct construction teams through the General Foreman.
• Liaise with the Technical Manager regarding the supply of all drawings and instructions issued by the consultant.
• Act as a liaison between the Construction Manager, Head of Plant, Timekeeper, and Storekeeper.
• Study drawings prior to implementation and report any irregularities or practical problems to the Construction Manager.
• Participate in methods.
• Ensure adherence to planning.
• Ensure quality performance; coordinate inspections as required by QA/AC procedures.
• Organize and manage deliveries.
• Follow up on required performance regarding labour, plant, and materials outputs; ensure all required materials, whether temporary or permanent, are delivered on time.
• Responsible for requesting equipment, plant, manpower, and site staffing from the Project Manager through the head office.
• Ensure safety procedures and practices are followed.
• Responsible for site security and cleanliness, labour follow-up (daily reports), and climatic control.
• Assist in site coordination meetings.
• Approve progress statements of Sub-Contractors.
• Follow up on and report on the performance of Sub-Contractors.
• Ensure adherence to approved drawings in accordance with coordinated drawings.
• Carry out works in a safe manner and with respect to the environment.
• Coordinate with the QC Engineer to raise inspection requests in a timely manner.
• Follow the work progress and site productivity of workers in detail and report directly to the CM in case of potential delays.
• Weekly and monthly comparison between the plan and achievements.
• Weekly and monthly work schedule, materials required, and materials usage reports.
• Assist in the management of workshop facilities, tools, and rental of major plant erection equipment.
• Supervise the technical field training of the client’s staff at the end of the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• Certifications in OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Training, First Aid, Project Management is a plus.
• Extensive practical experience in construction management.
