Piping Designer

Creates piping layouts, design and calculations used in projects. Assist in the determination and evaluation of piping materials for project. Responsible to the Piping Engineer for the design of the assigned project, interprets the requirements of the project scope documents and piping design standards. Verify design criteria in compliance with the latest information available and coordinate with other disciplines as required.

Job Specification

• He must be able to interpret the design scope of the project assigned to him.
• He must know how to do the piping layouts using CADD Microstation.
• He must be able to coordinate and interface with the scope of other disciplines. This may include reviewing other discipline drawings such as electrical layouts, instruments layouts, and accessibility and operation requirements.
• He should be conversant with the Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards as well as the International Industrial Standards such as ASME, API, ASTM, etc.
• He must be able to present clearly piping plans, sections, and details in accordance with the latest codes and client requirements.
• He must be able to prepare Material Take-Off for the quantities required as shown on the drawings.
• He should be visiting the project site to gather the required data in the design work.
• Assembling a drawing file for the checker which should include a print of the drawing ready for checking, all applicable vendor data, all applicable memos, design notes, references to plot plans by drawing number, and the engineering design sketches.
