To oversee and ensure the quality and safety of all bakery products and processes, adhering to food safety standards and regulations. This involves developing, implementing, and managing quality control programs, leading audits, optimizing processes, and ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and food quality regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control programs and procedures for the bakery.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Analyze data from quality control tests and inspections to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues or deviations from standards.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and SFDA guidelines.
- Manage and train quality control staff.
- Lead internal and external audits related to quality and food safety.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and purchasing, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the entire process.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement of quality control processes and practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all quality control activities.
- Manage customer complaints related to product quality and implement solutions.
- Develop and implement environmental monitoring programs to ensure a safe and hygienic production environment.
- Oversee the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop preventive measures.
- Participate in product development to ensure quality standards are integrated from the initial stages.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Must have a degree or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field with working experience in the Food industry and Food processing background.Previous experience in a food manufacturing or processing environment, specifically in quality control or assurance, is required.Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, SFDA).Strong understanding of quality control principles, statistical process control, and data analysis.Experience with laboratory testing and analysis techniques.Proficiency in using quality control software and equipment.Proven ability to lead, train, and manage a team.Strong verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports, training employees, and collaborating with management.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) is required for record-keeping, data analysis, and reporting.Experience with auditing and inspection processes.Knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques for food products.Seniority level
