Overview
Tesla is looking for an Energy Country Manager who will support our expansion into new markets in the Middle East, with a particular focus on the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. This role is a unique opportunity to drive Tesla’s market expansion strategy by identifying new opportunities, engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring seamless market entry. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to mobilize Tesla’s internal resources — across our policy, product, sales, and engineering teams — to assess and enter new markets. The role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the energy sector and a passion for driving the adoption of large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems, but also any Tesla energy related product in new regions. What You'll Do
Lead Tesla’s industrial energy storage and energy related product expansion strategy in the Middle East, identifying high-potential markets and developing an actionable roadmap for successful market entry. Drive and create connections at the highest levels (Ministries, Public companies CEOs, etc.) in the country to drive Tesla vision for a transition to sustainable energy. Develop creative solutions combining all Tesla ecosystem (Energy, Charging, Motors, etc.) and offer countries solutions that help achieve sustainable goals. Collaborate with the sales and the Autobidder team to conduct detailed market assessments, evaluating long-term opportunities, regulatory frameworks, and customer needs. Establish relationships with key players, including utilities, regulators, and large energy consumers, to accelerate Tesla’s market penetration. Work closely with internal teams (Policy, Product, Engineering, and Autobidder) to ensure a seamless market entry process. Advocate for Tesla’s approach to energy storage deployment, providing education and thought leadership to prospective customers. Partner with local governments and Tesla’s policy team to shape regulatory frameworks that support BESS adoption and market growth. What You'll Bring
10+ years’ work experience in a Business Development role / Country Manager role, or related role. Strong network of contact inside Government organizations, Ministries, TSO, etc. Extensive understanding of the Middle Eastern energy sector, with knowledge of energy storage technologies and their value propositions. Strong communication skills and strong skills in strategic thinking, financial analysis, and program management. Proven ability to present to external executive teams; an established network within the energy industry is highly advantageous. A self-starter capable of exploring and qualifying opportunities with minimal guidance. Experience working with utilities, IPPs, developers and governments. Fluent in English and Arabic.
