Transportation fleet con...SkillsAbility to learn new information quickly and to maAbility to use basic tools and equipment such as s# DescriptionThe main purpose of the Operator, Crane position is to operate mobilized cranes in a safe and effective manner in order to deliver upon client requirements and minimize the risk of property damage, injury, or loss of life.
- Duties and Responsibilities :
- Safely operate different types of cranes, adhering to operational guidelines and safety protocols.
- Perform daily maintenance checks and routine inspections on cranes to ensure functionality and safety, reporting any malfunctions or needs for repair.
- Accurately lift, move, and place materials and structures as directed, ensuring stability and load limits are adhered to.
- Comply with all workplace safety regulations and standards specific to crane operations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintaining clear and effective communication, especially during lifting operations.
- Sign-off on the Equipment Checklist along with Operations representative, prior to mobilization, as an acknowledgement of receiving in good condition prior to project execution.
- Check working condition of the mobilized crane and all accessories, daily prior to utilization.
- Perform safety and maintenance checks as per the equipment guidelines.
- Document daily inspection, safety and maintenance checks in format provided by Coordinator – Operations.
- Complete operation time sheets (of AMHEC and client), daily, in an ethical and diligent manner and obtain approval from the authorized client representative.
- Coordinate with the Coordinator – Operations and Time Coordinator to submit time sheets, immediately, upon project completion.
- Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by the equipment operation guidelines.
- Perform preventative maintenance of the equipment or escalate any adverse issues to the AMHEC Coordinators and / or Supervisors.
- Monitor the crane’s usage hours and notify the AMHEC Coordinators and / or Supervisors for periodic maintenance procedures.
- Assemble, set up accessories and rig the crane as per the equipment operation guidelines.
- Select (from the range diagram) the best boom, jib, and crane configuration to suit the load, site, and lift conditions.
- Determine the number of parts of hoist line required.
- Understand, memorize, and follow crane load charts for safe lifting at Yard, client, or rig sites.
- Monitor site conditions which could affect the crane operation and must refuse (using the stop card) any crane operation which is unsafe or could damage the equipment and accessories.
- Operate the crane according to verbal or written instructions from authorized representatives from the client or at rig site.
- Place blocks and outriggers to prevent capsizing when lifting heavy loads.
- Adequately secure and shut down the crane and its accessories, if unattended and, at closure of daily operations.
- Consider all factors that might reduce crane lift capacity and adjust the load weight to counter such factors including weather and ground conditions.
- Follow safety guidelines at client and rig sites and must always be in personal protective equipment when in duty.
- Inform the Coordinator – Operations of any problems, maintenance, or necessary repairs to the crane and complete the basic requirements in the Work Order form.
- Sign-off on the Equipment Checklist along with Operations representative, Quality Control Supervisor prior to demobilization and at the time of arrival at AMHEC’s Yard, as an acknowledgement.
- Receive any complaints about operations and quality of service from the client and report the same to the Coordinator – Operations in a timely manner.
- Maintain decorum and respond to AMHEC and all client representatives in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Participate in all Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and operator training organized by HSE department.
- Monitor the fuel usage.
- Adhere to all employee and process level policies and procedures as per the approved Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and Operations manual.
- Provide feedback to the Coordinator – Operations, as required.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned by his / her direct manager.
