We are seeking a highly skilled QC Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in the construction of electrical substations or overhead transmission lines, specifically in high voltage (HV) or extra high voltage (EHV) projects (380kV or 132kV). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of ensuring quality control and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities

Develop and implement quality control procedures for mechanical aspects of electrical substations and transmission lines. Maintain system manuals, international and national standards, client specifications, technical data sheets and handbooks, product range and component catalogs, copies of Inspection Test Plans (ITP), and all relevant documents related to inspections. Monitor mechanical activities, including fire alarm, firefighting systems, plumbing, coating and galvanizing, pump installation, and sewage treatment works, to ensure compliance with standards and quality requirements. Conduct inspections of mechanical activities from raw materials to final testing and commissioning. Monitor and inspect ongoing inspection and testing activities through the concerned project quality / construction representatives. Perform root cause analysis on telecommunication activities. Ensure that the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and defined quality requirements, including ITP, checklists, Method of Statements (MOS), Project Technical Specifications (PTS), and applicable standards and codes, are being followed on projects. Coordinate with concerned representatives such as Construction Managers, Project Managers, suppliers, vendors, third-party inspectors, and Total Quality Management (TQM) Managers for the implementation and improvement of quality. Provide technical assistance to the construction team for improving project quality and progress. Prepare and review project quality documents until project completion, maintaining a comprehensive project dossier. Ensure appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are in place and maintained to track quality costs, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), proactive measures, and lessons learned, highlighting variances and trends in various performance indicators of the project. Understand engineering procedures / interfaces across all disciplines of the project and reflect them in quality control deliverables. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control for electrical substation or overhead transmission line projects. Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, ANSI, etc.). Previous approval or certification from the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is highly preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. About Alfanar
