Job Purpose / Objective

Install, test and maintain fire protection equipment and systems such as extinguishers, hoses, reels, hydrants, fire blankets, exit lighting, fire and smoke doors, gaseous fire suppression systems, passive fire and smoke containment systems and foam generating equipment.

Job Purpose / Objective

Install, test and maintain fire protection equipment and systems such as extinguishers, hoses, reels, hydrants, fire blankets, exit lighting, fire and smoke doors, gaseous fire suppression systems, passive fire and smoke containment systems and foam generating equipment.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Check fire alarm systems including smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, and other fire suppression equipment.
• Inspect buildings for fire hazards such as blocked exits or malfunctioning equipment.
• Support the review of electrical layout blueprints to determine building's fire alarm systems.
• Regularly test and repair fire alarm systems and communication systems.
• Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring, including identifying and installing replacement parts as necessary.
• Installing structural protection to the frame of a building, such as dry cladding, mineral sprays or intumescent.
• Construct fire resistant walls and ceiling linings.
• Install thermal and acoustic insulation, fire seals, cavity barriers and fire-resistant ducting.
• Use access equipment such as ladders.
• Follow technical drawings and plans.
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
• Perform all other tasks / duties assigned within the realm of his / her knowledge, skills and abilities.
