Primary Responsibilities

• Follow Department and Organizational Policies and Procedures.
• Evaluating patients’ medical histories to ensure the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them.
• Suggesting alternative medical imaging techniques, when necessary.
• Informing patients about the medical imaging process.
• Working with radiology technicians to perfect image quality. Define protocols for different imaging procedures.
• Image Interpretation : Analyze and interpret medical images (X-rays and ultrasounds) to diagnose illnesses and injuries.
• Diagnostic Procedures : Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound scans.
• Consultation : Discuss imaging findings and diagnoses with referring physicians and healthcare providers to determine appropriate treatment plans for patients.
• Compiling and verify written reports of results and diagnoses for xray and ultrasound.
• Primary reporting for Mammography, CT and MRI scans.
• Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.
• Patient Care : Provide patient care by explaining imaging procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures, and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Quality Assurance : Ensure the quality and accuracy of imaging procedures and reports, adhering to established protocols and standards.
• Collaboration : Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as surgeons, oncologists, and pathologists, to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
• Administrative Duties : Complete administrative tasks related to patient care, such as documenting findings, maintaining patient records, and adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Document any Critical Findings and relaying the attending Doctor and / or the Patient.
• Provide oversight of the system management for the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
• Perform other professional duties requested from line manager.
