Mechanical Engineer - Marine

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support and manage trade, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations within our shipyard. This role will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical systems and components are maintained, repaired, and overhauled to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is to have a strong technical background in mechanical engineering, with experience in shipyard or industrial facility maintenance. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with the production team to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced shipyard environment. Responsibilities

Mechanical Systems Maintenance & Repair :

Oversee and manage the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of mechanical systems and components on vessels, including engines, pumps, and other machinery. Technical Support & Troubleshooting :

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical issues that arise during maintenance and repair operations. Conduct diagnostic tests and inspections to identify and resolve mechanical problems. Team Collaboration & Coordination :

Collaborate with the production team, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality execution of mechanical tasks. Participate in daily briefings and provide technical guidance to team members. Quality Control & Compliance :

Ensure all mechanical work is performed to the highest industry standards and in compliance with safety regulations and shipyard protocols. Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to ensure all mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks meet the required specifications. Maintain accurate records of all mechanical work completed, highlighting any issues or deviations from plans. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within shipyard operations or a similar industry. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and components used in vessels. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Strong communication and leadership skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to shipyard operations.
