ROLE OVERVIEW
The DP and Middle Years Music Teacher will collaborate within a faculty team to review, develop and deliver a curriculum consistent with the IB MYP / DP frameworks and the MYP / DP Arts Subject Guides. This position supports and implements the learning program in accordance with the guidelines and philosophy of NEOM EC-12 under the supervision and direction of the Programme Coordinator(s) and the Head of School.
REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY
Teaching Experience
- Proven experience as a Music teacher, preferably within an IB MYP and DP framework.
Knowledge of Music
In-depth understanding of various music styles across different genres and cultures.Ability to convey complex musical ideas in an accessible manner.Collaboration and Communication :
Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork.Experience working with diverse learning needs and creating an inclusive classroom environment.Curriculum Development
Expertise in curriculum development, preferably based on the IB MYP and DP frameworks.Assessment and Reporting
Proficient in developing and administering assessments; ability to report on student progress in music.Professional Development and Adaptability
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on education trends.Adaptability to integrate new teaching methodologies and approaches.Music and Performance

The Music teacher’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :
Curriculum Delivery
Develop and implement engaging lessons aligned with the MYP and DP frameworks.Foster curiosity, critical thinking, and inquiry-based learning.Differentiated Instruction
Tailor teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.Encourage hands-on performance and application of learned musical skills.Inquiry-Based Learning
Facilitate inquiry-based learning experiences, encouraging students to explore musical concepts independently.Guide students in developing a deep understanding of music methodology.Assessment and Feedback
Develop and administer assessments to gauge student understanding and progress in music.Provide timely and constructive feedback to support students in enhancing their musical skills.Collaboration
Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and create a cohesive learning experience.Foster positive relationships with other DP and MYP teachers, contributing to cross-subject connections, particularly with subjects that complement music.Professional Development
Stay updated on advancements in teaching methodologies, and curriculum developments.Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.Parent and Community Engagement
Communicate with parents regarding student progress and involvement in music-related activities.Collaborate with the community to enhance the music learning, and performance, experience.Other Duties
