Overview

Join to apply for the Consultant – Family Medicine role at Bupa Arabia . The Family Medicine Consultant will provide comprehensive primary healthcare physically and through telemedicine to individuals and families of all ages, encompassing preventive, acute, and chronic care. The role involves diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, promoting health education and preventive measures, and coordinating care with specialists and other healthcare professionals. The role also includes population health management and value-based care, focusing on improving patient outcomes through efficient and effective healthcare delivery through specific care programs and clinical pathways, with an emphasis on delivering patient-centered care and optimizing health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive telehealth and in-person consultations through thorough patient history and physical examinations for Family Medicine and general medicine concerns.
  • Provide care to the family medicine target population across all ages and both genders.
  • Deliver chronic disease and preventive care consultations and follow-up per clinical guidelines.
  • Utilize video conferencing to assess symptoms, review medical history, perform virtual examinations, develop personalized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient education.
  • Deliver high-quality medical consultations and use telehealth platforms for virtual appointments as well as in-person assessments when needed.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication management, referrals to specialists, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Oversee ongoing care for chronic and acute conditions and adjust treatment plans based on patient feedback and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists, and nurses to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Practice population health management by identifying health issues at the community level, implementing preventive measures, and promoting health education and awareness.
  • Document findings and treatment plans accurately in patient records.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care clearly.
  • Adhere to relevant medical regulations, ethical guidelines, and quality assurance standards for telehealth and in-person practice.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of telehealth regulations and participate in quality improvement initiatives and documentation of patient encounters.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, research, and clinical audits to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Regularly review compliance protocols and participate in training sessions; collaborate with compliance officers to meet regulatory standards.
  • Prepare reports for audits and inspections with accuracy and completeness; stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and implement adjustments accordingly.
  • Professional Development

  • Continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills in family medicine, including in-person and telehealth best practices.
  • Attend relevant conferences, workshops, and online courses; stay abreast of advancements in family medicine and telehealth technology.
  • Telehealth Platform Proficiency

  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with applicable privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proficiency in the designated telehealth platform, including video conferencing, secure messaging, and EHR integration.
  • Participate in training programs and stay updated on platform enhancements; collaborate with IT support to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Patient Safety and Satisfaction

  • Maintain compliance with patient safety standards across all clinical interactions.
  • Report patient safety risks to the quality department and implement safety protocols to minimize risks during consultations.
  • Explain medication side effects and proper use; ensure empathy and clear communication to maintain satisfactory patient consultations.
  • Monitor patient feedback and address concerns promptly; conduct regular training on patient safety for staff; use patient satisfaction surveys for continuous improvement.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Teams

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and share insights to support patient-centered approaches.
  • Facilitate clear communication about patient status and needs among team members; mentor junior staff and provide clinical protocol training.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited medical school.
  • Residency in Family Medicine from an accredited program.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine.
  • Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classification and registration as a Family Medicine Consultant.
  • Proven experience as a Family Medicine Consultant or similar role in a primary care setting.
  • Experience in population health management and value-based care approaches.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and telemedicine platforms.
  • Strong clinical judgment, analytical skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities; commitment to ongoing professional development.
