Job responsibilities
- The battery technician is primarily responsible for setting up and maintaining the battery shop facility, inspecting, and performing maintenance on battery systems.
- Ensure that the battery systems on GSE and aircraft are properly maintained and repaired.
- Maintain accountability for all battery section assets and electrical / electronic elements of assembly's nickel-cadmium and lead-based batteries.
- Issue and receive all batteries, test sets, and other equipment assigned to the battery section; provide battery support as outlined in directives.
- Manage the battery control program, and ensure proper markings and labeling of batteries.
- Operate and calibrate battery testing and general-purpose equipment.
- Conduct on-the-job training as required and ensure all operations are conducted safely.
- Perform other tasks as directed by the PC Manager and work within broad guidelines with autonomy to select methods and implement goals within duties and responsibilities.
