Overview
The Role The Senior Project Manager is a senior member of the supervision services team. He manages supervision projects of high complexity and has the highest level of responsibility on site, including team management, schedule and cost control, quality and HSSE management, risk management and client management throughout the project lifecycle. He is the primary point of contact with all parties involved in the project and ensures supervision projects are delivered on schedule and on budget. He reviews, comments and approves contractor submittals and manages the supervision team to ensure the fulfillment of client requirements, while maintaining a positive and reputable company image in all interactions.
Responsibilities
Provide input on the pipeline of supervision projects, indicating likelihood of wins, to the Senior Manager - Supervision
Develop detailed project budgets for supervision projects of high complexity
Monitor and manage project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring the adherence to allocated budgets and investigate reasons for budget overruns
Ensure supervision projects of high complexity are delivered on schedule and on budget
Lead the coordination with client counterparts to finalize project commencement orders for major / supervision projects of high complexity
Guide the coordination with local authorities to obtain required approvals, licenses, permits etc. for supervision projects
Manage client relations, including managing project expectations, sharing project progress and issues / risks and responding to client clarifications on technical and contractual issues on major / supervision projects of high complexity
Ensure client satisfaction with construction supervision services
Ensure the delivery of quality and HSSE training and awareness sessions to supervision staff, as needed
Ensure contract documents are signed by the contractors and client counterparts and that design NOCs and approvals by authorities are sent to contractors during the pre-construction phase, as needed
Lead internal and external project kick-off meetings and ensure stakeholders are aligned for major projects or projects of high complexity
Review and approve the contractor’s work program, ensuring compliance with client and contract requirements
Review, comment and approve contractors’ submittals on projects of high complexity, including staffing proposals, organization charts, shop drawings, method statements, project procedures, traffic management plans, etc.
Guide the verification and communication of project scope baselines, including goals, deliverables and success
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Architect or Civil)
Master’s Degree in Construction Management Engineering is preferred
PMP Certification
Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
Excellent knowledge of construction supervision services
Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
Solid knowledge of contracts type
Strong project management skills
Good interpersonal and leadership skills
Good communication skills
Ability to attend to multiple projects at the same time
Good understanding of Request for Proposal (RFP)
Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English
Knowledge in planning and scheduling (Primavera, etc)
Good command in Excel, PowerPoint etc
15+ years of experience in the Construction Industry
15+ years of experience in the Construction Industry (Building) in a top tier regional / multinational consultancy firm, with demonstrated deep expertise in a construction supervision role
Demonstrated experience with developing and maintaining relationships with clients
Exposure to all construction supervision aspects, including client management, contractor management, supplier management, contract administration, quality management, dispute management etc.
Industry experience within the Gulf and KSA
