Overview
Role Purpose
The Account Manager – Sales will be responsible for managing and growing strategic customer accounts, driving revenue growth, and ensuring long-term partnerships within the solar services and solutions sector. This role combines sales leadership, customer relationship management, and regional support for sales operations. The incumbent will also assist the Sales Operations Manager in overseeing regional performance and supporting junior sales engineers.
Responsibilities
- Sales Operations & Business Growth
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Solar market, including Solar projects, project owners, competitors, and customer behaviors, and share insights with Sales Management and Marketing teams.
- Build strong networks with government authorities, consultants, EPCs, and key customers to expand business opportunities.
- Drive customer acquisition, ensure retention, and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and present state-of-the-art performance reports and sales forecasts to management on a regular basis.
- Assess the financial capability and behavior of existing and potential customers to mitigate risk and identify growth opportunities.
- Support Supply Chain and Product Managers with accurate monthly sales forecasts to optimize planning and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with quality, customer service, and health & safety standards across all sales activities.
- Develop and execute individual sales plans to achieve assigned targets and contribute to overall branch goals.
- Assist the Branch / Sales Manager in regional sales planning, budget preparation, and performance monitoring.
- Coaching, Leadership & Team Development
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to junior sales engineers in executing their tasks effectively.
- Evaluate the performance of direct reports, ensuring they receive appropriate training and development opportunities.
- Identify and cultivate new customer relationships through demand creation, client visits, and professional presentations.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation of new team members, ensuring alignment with company culture and objectives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
- Ensure adherence to relevant quality management systems and procedures to deliver consistent, high-quality solutions and services.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Experience : 4–8 years in B2B sales, account management, or business development, preferably in renewable energy, clean tech, or related industries.Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.Strong track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.Proven ability to manage large accounts and build long-term customer relationships.Core Competencies
